Coconut Oil and Hair Growth

Coconut oil is great for weight loss, but it's also great for hair growth. It conditions the hair better than most oils. This is because coconut oil is one of the very few oils that can actually soak into the hair shaft, penetrate, and get to work nourishing and repairing your hair. Other oils just sit on top of the hair not really doing too much.

The deep conditioning that coconut oil does for the hair will help your hair grow longer. Coconut oil helps prevent breakage and can even help repair damage that has been done. You can't use just any type of coconut oil though. You need to use unrefined coconut oil.

You will find this coconut oil under the name of Virgin Coconut Oil. That is the type of oil you want to use for your hair. To get the best results, replace your normal cooking oil with this oil and use it topically. If you ingest coconut oil and use it on your hair, you will see more benefits faster.

You will want to treat your hair with coconut oil at least once a week. Coconut oil is pretty solid at room temperature, so you may need to scoop some out and heat it up for a few a seconds before applying it to the hair.

If you have damaged ends, you may want to concentrate it at the ends in order to repair some of the damage and deep condition the area. If you have dandruff, also apply the coconut oil to your roots. You will see your dandruff go away if you continue to treat your roots with coconut oil.

Eating coconut oil is fine also. Many people have even gone on the coconut oil diet which helps with weight loss. All you have to do is replace your normal cooking oil (usually vegetable oil) with coconut oil. Begin cooking your favorite foods in coconut oil and you will see a difference in your skin, nails, hair, and weight.
