Cranberries are best grown in places that don't get very hot, but also don't get very cold. Do not worry, if you location doesn't fit this description you can always grow your cranberries indoors. The soil you use to grow them should drain well.
You should start growing them in the fall and transplant them to the outdoors in the spring during April to May (if your climate allows).
First, make a hole about eight inches deep. Add clay soil and peat moss. Wet the soil. When you are planting cranberry plants side by side, make sure you leave about a foot in between the plants. Always water the plants every day. The soil should be very moist, but not completely drenched.
If you decide you don't want to transplant the cranberry plants and you want to leave them in the container to grow, you have to replace them after three years.
Prune the plants when they reach three years old. Always harvest the fruit before the first frost.
