Green Tea Study: Weight Management

A study with green tea shows that it really can help with weight loss. Mice that were obese were given a diet high in fat and green tea. Another group of mice were only given the high fat diet with no green tea. The mice who were getting the green tea began to gain weight much slower than the mice who were not getting the green tea. The mice who were getting green tea actually gained 45% less fat.

Also, the mice who were taking green tea began to have more fatty fecal matter. It became 30% more fatty, which is proof that green tea decreases your body's ability to absorb fat. It also improves the way your body uses fat. Instead of just storing fat, your body puts more of it to use.

Green tea is a very useful supplement for weight loss. If you combine green tea with exercise and eating a little less, you will see weight loss. Not just any supplement provides enough green tea as this study. You will need a supplement with EGCG.

I take green tea, but I do not take an extract. Now I may change my mind about that choice and begin taking a supplement that is concentrated with EGCG.
