In all of the herbal diet pills I have reviewed, there are some that are problem causers. They give you a headache all day, nausea, irritability, fast heartbeat, heart flutters, irregular heartbeat, and even sometimes vomiting. What causes this? Too much caffeine! That's right. One little ingredient in many forms is causing these side effects.
Caffeine helps speed up the metabolism, so that is the reasoning behind it being a major ingredients in herbal diet pills. I cannot tell you why any manufacturer would put too much caffeine in a pill though. You would think they would know that it causes such bad side effects that people would complain and not buy again.
Evaluate pills with guarana, green tea, and caffeine. Guarana is pretty much pure caffeine. Green tea contains some caffeine. If the diet pills combine two or more of these ingredients, try to find out the total caffeine content.
Now, some amount of caffeine is good, but make sure there is not too much. If your diet pills tell you to take more than 300 mg of caffeine per day, you risk side effects. Everyone is different. Your tolerance to caffeine may be much higher than 300 mg.
Some things you can do to help alleviate the side effects of caffeine-laden diet pills:
Exercise. You need to burn off that extra energy or you will have trouble sleeping. If you are not too sick, try to exercise so your body can use up the energy.
Drink water. You should drink more water when dealing with diet pills that contain a lot of caffeine.
Lower the dosage. If the bottle says take two per day, start taking only one per day and see if that helps. You can also just find a new herbal diet pill that does not contain crazy amounts of caffeine. There are many out there that do help with weight loss and contain no caffeine.
