Stress Shortens Life

I know you've probably heard this before, but being stressed a lot can cause illness and a shorter life. It has a lot to do with your immune system being weakened.

Your brain can't handle the constant stress AND fighting off illnesses. Some things that might "help" it along would be an unhealthy diet with many processed foods. The problem is that those who are chronically stressed are stressed for a reason. They cannot just snap their fingers and get rid of the stress. Something is there causing the stress.

Here are some things you can do to save your own life by lowering the stress level.

Try to cut out the thing/things in your life that are causing you stress. If it's a person, tell that person. If it's a job, think about finding a new job. Why stay unhappy in a stressful job until you die an untimely death? That doesn't sound like a great life.

There are some herbs that can help you calm down. Ashwagandha is a Chinese herb for stress. It actually does work well. If you have stress and depression, try St. John's Wort.

Those who are usually happy are the ones who can make the best out of the present situation. They find something positive about the here and now. They don't rely on, "Well, maybe in the future..." It would take a lot to try to change your mindset into being that way.

Another thing you can do is to boost your immune system, so at least it has some extra help. You can do this by taking a multivitamin, take (or drink) green tea, and take garlic.

Garlic is amazing for the immune system. Those who take garlic capsules get sick less often. It's been documented in studies. Green tea helps your body's T cells to remember more so that they can fight off infection better. A multivitamin will ensure that your body is getting enough nutrients in order to fight off disease.

A few other herbs that can help your immune system are goldenseal and echinacea. You can find them sold together in one capsule because they are normally used together.

If you have eaten processed foods, you may want to think about a detox. Detoxing is great because it allows your body to get rid of junk that will ultimately lead to disease if it's left sitting there. We all have junk in our intestines. You can detox by drinking lemon water, senna tea, or going on a fruit fast. You can try other fasts, but fruit may be the best one. Those who fast every-so-often, tend to get sick less.
