Can you lose weight with green coffee bean extract?

Has anyone ever lost weight with green coffee bean extract? Is it possible?

Yes.

The University of Scranton conducted a study with green coffee bean extract. There were 16 overweight adult participants. At first they took 1,050 mg of green coffee extract for 6 weeks followed by 2 weeks of no supplements in order to refresh their bodies for the next segment. After those 2 weeks, they started taking 700 mg green coffee extract for 6 weeks followed by another 2 weeks of no supplements. The last 6 weeks, the group took a placebo. During these weeks, there was no change in diet by the subjects. They were still eating the foods that had them overweight in the first place.

The University of Scranton found out that there was a decrease in body fat, body weight, and body mass index. They found out that both the 1,050 and 700 mg doses were effective with weight loss, but the 1,050 was more effective at helping participants lose weight. Participants ended up losing on average 17 lbs. These participants were eating about 2,000 net calories per day (2,400 with an energy expenditure of 400). It's okay if you don't know what that means. Basically, they were not lowering their calories. They were eating normal and still lost weight.

So yes, you can lose weight with green coffee bean extract. Most companies are making 200 mg and 400 mg green coffee bean supplements which aren't even close to what they used in the study. The reason is fear of side effects from customers. There are some websites where you can buy up to 800 mg of green coffee bean capsules which should give you the good effects of this study. I would not advise taking that one immediately though. You don't know how your body will react.

First, you should talk to your doctor or a Master Herbalist to see if it's okay for you to begin taking green coffee bean. Once you get the permission from them, begin with a low dose. If you can take it and not have any ill effects, it would probably be okay to get another supplement that has a higher dose. Always follow the bottle's directions and never take more than is recommended by the company that manufactured it.
