Herbal Remedies For Abscess Tooth

Having an abscess tooth is a painful experience. You may experience, redness, swelling, and pain in the area. There are some home remedies for treating an abscess tooth that you may want to try.

First make sure you make the dietary changes needed for you to fight the infection. You should be taking a multivitamin to boost your immune system and also try to avoid a lot of sugar.

Begin using a tea tree oil mouth wash daily. Tea tree oil can kill bacteria.

You can also try using chamomile tea. Drink the chamomile tea a few times daily or you can just place a wet chamomile tea bag in your mouth between your gums and teeth where the abscess is located. It will help with inflammation from the abscessed tooth.

Echinacea and goldenseal can be used together in order to give your immune system a nice boost. They are super antibacterials that can fight off infections.

Olive leaf and garlic are two more great antibacterials that help boost your immune system and fight harmful bacteria.

Swish garlic salt in your mouth. The salt with relieve pain and swelling. Get a cup of warm water and add garlic salt, swish around for a few minutes and then spit.

It's very important to note than some people have been able to treat their abscess tooth with home remedies, but because of the severity of the condition, it isn't recommended to do that. You may not want to hear this, but if left untreated, your abscess tooth can cause death in more than a few ways.

The problem is that the infection and puss is trapped inside the tooth. It cannot get out. Eventually it will need to eat it's way through bone, causing you permanent damage. The infection will try to find an outlet and that is what ends up causing death.

People have died from ignoring or self-treating their abscess tooth. If you don't have dental insurance, the first thing you can do is go to an emergency room that will treat you. They will give you some antibiotics. This will control the infection so that it doesn't spread and kill you. Then, you should try to get dental insurance.

It's important to note than the antibiotics cannot get to the "root" of the problem so to speak, because the bacteria is embedded in the tooth. You will most likely need a root canal to completely rid your mouth of the bacteria.

I am normally all for trying to treat things with natural remedies, but this case is different than any other. Not even the antibiotics from the ER will kill the infection completely, so you cannot expect herbal antibiotics to do any better. It's really something a dentist needs to handle. Get yourself taken care of as soon as you can. The above herbal treatments are meant to hold you over until you make it to the ER.
