Ashwagandha needs a warm climate. You should plant the seeds in late spring so that it's warm enough. Prepare the area that you will plant the ashwagandha seeds. Choose a spot in your garden that receives full sun. You will use a sandy soil that you normally use for types of plants that prefer warm, dry climates.
You will want to keep the seeds moist, but you don't want to water the seeds too much. The soil that you choose should drain well. The seeds will germinate after a few weeks if the climate is warm enough. If you are planting the ashwagandha for it's health benefits, you will want to harvest the root of the plant in Autumn after the first frost of the season.
