Papaya Side Effects

Before you begin taking a papaya supplement for health, you may want to evaluate the side effects of papaya. It's always important to find out side effects and warnings of herbal and fruit supplements.

Papaya, when taken in the proper dosage, will most likely be safe for anyone. It's generally safe to take papaya enzyme as long as you are taking the right amount. If you are unsure, read the label of the product you buy and find out how much you should take daily.

Papaya has not been studied with pregnant and nursing women. There is evidence that papaya may contribute to miscarriages. If you are pregnant or nursing, please avoid taking papaya as a supplement.

Papaya has been known to cause allergic reactions in sensitive people. If you start to feel symptoms of an allergy such as itching, rashes, and swelling, discontinue use of your papaya supplement.

If you plan to actually eat the papaya fruit, do not eat unripe papaya. If you eat a papaya that isn't ripe, you may experience stomach pains and inflammation.

If you consume too much papaya, it may have a laxative effect on your body. Only consume the recommended dosage to avoid any adverse effects.

Papaya seeds in large doses are harmful. Avoid eating too many papaya seeds as this may cause cardiac depression, paralysis and narrowed blood vessels.

Papaya is safe when taken in it's ripe form and taken in the right doses. You won't have a problem with this if you buy a papaya supplement and take only as much as the label tells you to. Most likely, you will not experience any adverse effects if you do just that.
