Garlic. Garlic helps kill bacterial, viral, and fungal infections. It inhibits the growth of the bacteria and shortens the lifespan of colds and the flu.

Sweet Potato. Sweet potato contains many vitamins that are essential for fighting the flu. Vitamins such as A, C, calcium, and potassium are all found in sweet potato.

Red Bell Pepper. Red bell pepper has more vitamin C than oranges.

Mushrooms. Mushrooms help to boost your immune system. If you feel well enough, add mushroom to soup while you have the flu.

Dark Chocolate and Green Tea. Separately of course; not mixed together. Both of these help the immune system. They boost the intelligence of T cells, which are needed to fight off infections.

Tea and Honey. Honey helps prevent the spread of infection, while tea will give you vitamins and water. Water is very important while fighting off the flu.
