Cocoa Reviews

If you are thinking about taking a pure cocoa supplement, but you aren't sure yet, I've rounded up some stories and reviews from people who have added pure cocoa to their diet. Here are some cocoa weight loss reviews:

In this review of natural weight loss cocoa, one woman said it suppressed her appetite and she felt full for hours. Another woman says that it helps keep her from getting hungry often. Another woman said she takes it and doesn't get hungry again for many hours. This proves the appetite suppressant powers of cocoa.

In this review of Peruvian cocoa leaf capsules, someone states that they felt an increase in energy, suppressed appetite, and it definitely helped with weight loss because of these benefits.

I briefly took some cocoa for weight loss and I never felt hungry. I had to make myself eat. If you are one of those people who tend to binge (and especially on sweet foods), cocoa capsules may be a great idea for you. You will not feel the urge to binge and you can go forward with your weight loss goals.

Side Effects of Cocoa

Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. This statement is true for most things. Cocoa is no exception here. There may be some side effects of taking a cocoa supplement that you should know about. Cocoa does contain caffeine.

If you are used to a lot of caffeine (most Americans are), you can expect minimal difficulties here. You most likely won't even feel the caffeine except for an increase in energy. Those who are caffeine sensitive should watch out though.

If you take a lot of cocoa, you may experience:
  • Faster heart rate
  • Increase in urination
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Nervousness
  • Constipation
  • Upset stomach
  • Headaches
If you are allergic to cocoa, do not take a cocoa supplement. If you see symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue use. If you are pregnant or nursing, normal daily amounts are okay but taking a cocoa supplement is not advised. Doses above 200 mg of caffeine during pregnancy are bad for your baby.

If you have acid reflux, you may not want to take a cocoa supplement because it could worsen your condition. Those who are known to have anxiety may not react well to the extra caffeine. If you have heart conditions that require your intake of caffeine to be low, do not take a cocoa supplement. If you are having surgery soon, do not take cocoa supplements.

Cocoa For Weight Loss?

Did you know that pure cocoa can help you reach your weight loss goals? It's true. Cocoa in it's pure state is very healthy and helpful for those wanting to lose weight. Here are the ways cocoa can help you lose weight:
  • Increased energy
  • Appetite suppressant
  • Blocks fat absorption
  • Regulates blood sugar
  • Improves digestion
With an increase in energy, you won't feel tired and sluggish through out the day. You will feel more like working out and exercising for longer than normal. Cocoa suppresses your appetite because it decreases spikes in blood sugar.

When our blood sugar is not regulated, it causes us to crave foods that are bad for us. Cocoa can stop these cravings. Cocoa blocks the absorption of some of the fat in your food. Cocoa also aids in digestion. When our food moves faster through our bodies, it helps prevent fat storage.

Remember, you should take pure cocoa if you want all of these health benefits. Eating a hershey's bar is not going to give you many of these benefits.
