One hundred people were used in this study. They were from the ages of 21 to 65 and healthy. They were also people who tend to be sedentary, which means they have a desk job and at home they tend to not do much work. They were given 500 mL drinks. One of the drinks contained 625 mg of green tea catechins. The other drink contained caffeine. They took one of these drinks each day. They also had to exercise for 180 minutes each week at a moderate level.
The results of the study found that those who took the drink with green tea catechins lost more weight than those in the control group. In particular, abdominal fat decreased more in the green tea catechins group.
This study proves that green tea helps you lose more weight than you could on your own. If you are trying to lose weight, it would benefit you to take green tea each day. You will end up losing weight faster.
